MORE INFO AND GUIDELINES:
🌟 Ecstatic Dance Guidelines
Ecstatic Dance is a freeform movement journey, held in a safe and sacred space. These guidelines help co-create a respectful, connected, and transformative experience for all.
1. No Talking on the Dancefloor
The dancefloor is a space for movement, not conversation.
If you need to speak, please step outside or to a designated talking area.
2. Respect the Space and Each Other
Dance however you feel — wild or still, fast or slow — just be mindful of others.
Respect everyone’s personal space. Consent is key — no touch without clear permission.
3. Substance-Free Environment
Ecstatic Dance is a sober space. No alcohol, drugs, or intoxicants of any kind.
4. No Shoes (Barefoot is Best)
Dancing barefoot helps you ground into the earth and feel more connected.
If you need foot protection for medical reasons, please wear soft, clean indoor shoes.
5. Phone-Free & Camera-Free Zone
Let go of distractions. No filming or photography during the dance.
Be present with your body, breath, and the collective energy.
6. All Movement is Welcome
You don’t need to “know how to dance” — follow your body, not your mind.
There’s no right or wrong way to move.
7. Honour the Journey
We begin and end together. Please arrive on time and stay until the closing circle if possible.
Allow yourself to move through the full arc of the experience — from grounding to expression to integration.
8. Children Welcome (Depending on Event Policy)
Some dances are family-friendly, others are adults-only. Please check the event info in advance.
9. Leave No Trace
Respect the venue. Take all belongings, rubbish, and water bottles with you.
